About us

The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Lodz:

― provides support for matters related to the implementation of educational processes and the course of study of first- and second-level students conducted at the Faculty;

― provides administrative and organizational support for matters handled by the Faculty Authorities, including:

HR matters, such as:

● implementing the Dean's HR policy,
● analyzing/verifying the scientific and teaching achievements of employees,
● monitoring employee awards and distinctions,

Financial matters, such as:

● developing draft material and financial plans,
● monitoring compliance of expenditures with the material and financial plan,
● preparing reports for managerial control in the area of finance,
● providing financial summaries and information for reports and financial statements related to the Faculty,

Research and development matters, such as:

● maintaining records of the scientific achievements of Faculty employees (publications and patents),
● preparing reports for evaluation and self-assessment of the Faculty and its discipline;

― prepares and administers Faculty Council meetings and meetings of the University of Lodz Committee for academic degrees in the biological sciences discipline;

― creates and records the Faculty's legal acts;

― prepares required reporting on the Faculty's activities;

― supervises data entry into information systems and databases;

― co-organizes Faculty celebrations;

― carries out current administrative tasks related to the functioning of the Faculty in cooperation with organizational units of the Faculty, central administration units of the University of Lodz and other University and external units.

The tasks of the Dean’s Office are carried out by specialized teams:

  • Dean's Office Team – matters conducted by the Faculty Authorities related to the functioning of the Faculty and collegial bodies, as well as reporting. The Dean’s Office comprises:

             - Publications Unit – publication process support, publication records management, support for the research evaluation process, analysis and reporting of the Faculty’s research output; and

             - Administrative and Finance Team – administrative office services and administrative and financial support for the Faculty Authorities;

  • Student Section Team – study-related matters, student and graduate services;
  • Planning Team – preparation of teaching schedules and USOS databases for the academic teaching cycle, and coordinates the reservation of Faculty halls and rooms.


SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

From 20 July to 28 August 2026 , due to the summer working schedule, the Dean's Office will be open until 1:30 p.m.

In the event of exceptionally hot weather, the office hours may be shortened.
